An Art department member was recently observed choking a label at his desk. The label was described as approximately two by four inches, with a green and red border, a barcode, and several lines of copy. During questioning, the artist explained that correct trapping of artwork is crucial for the label to print correctly. No charges were filed.

From concept to final design, there are many more (less violent) steps to be sure the artwork produces a product the customer has in mind. To that end, the GRL Art Department excels in assisting our customers in assuring the artwork meets their expectations as well as our requirements for the label conversion process. Trapping, color choices, type styles, layout, and die cutting are all important factors that need consideration based on the printing process used.

All artwork is approved by the customer before printing begins. For the flexographic printing process, film is produced and plates are made. GRL has been producing plates for over 20 years. GRL's processes and procedures incorporate four mil matte film, Kelleigh plate making equipment, and 0.067" photopolymer plate material. To most people these details aren't important. What is important however; is that GRL's years of experience add up to the highest quality artwork, film, plates, and ultimately the highest quality product.
